 SCAFFOLD ERNEST ROBERTS

Work on the Regal has begun, at last something to see from the outside.  Scaffolding has now been erected. Work has started on the roof.

Check out the up-dates on the History Pages about Ernest Roberts who was the Regal’s architect and worked with Sidney Clift who gave his name to the Clifton Cinemas in Leominster and Ludlow

The top left of these three pictures shows the inside of the Regal before work began; scaffolding now fills the auditorium in readiness for restoration to begin on the murals.

Plastic covering protects  the centre section of seating,  the outer seating blocks have been removed to allow safe placing of the scaffold.

Other parts the auditorium that might get damaged during restoration work have been carefully boxed in.
